Draft: awaiting expert reviewUpdated

Wild Pearls are the earned kind of Pearl. Members get them for contributions that build the archive and the community: documented grows, keepers nominated and picked as Bay Lines parents, males in the Stud Book, preservation work, open trial participation and honest reviews.

In practice

Only Wild Pearls can move between members, for sends, tips and escrow in the Swap, and only inside the platform. They carry no cash value and cannot be bought, so value from money never reaches the member-to-member layer. In some regions, rules about whether points count as "consideration" for genetics mean certain lanes run as gifts only; the platform follows whatever mode the local law allows.

Example: a member whose keeper is picked as a Bay Lines parent receives a Wild Pearl award and a credit on the line's record.

Don't confuse with

  • Cultured Pearls: purchased, store-only, never transferable.
  • Pearls: the umbrella term for both kinds.
