CBC

CBC (cannabichromene) is a minor neutral cannabinoid formed when CBCA decarboxylates; it is usually present at well under 1% w/w in mature drug-type flower.

CBC, cannabichromene, is the neutral form of CBCA, one of the three main products the plant can make from CBGA. It is a minor cannabinoid in nearly all modern drug-type and hemp-type material, though some reports find relatively higher CBCA in young plants and in certain lines. Light exposure can slowly convert CBC into CBL during storage.

In practice

Many potency panels report CBC or CBCA alongside the main cannabinoids. A reading of 0.1-0.5% w/w is typical for flower. It counts toward total cannabinoids but rarely changes a plant's classification. GenetixBay makes no claims about CBC's effects; human evidence is thin.

Don't confuse with

  • CBCA: the acid form the plant makes.
  • CBN: a THC oxidation product with a similar abbreviation.
  • CBL: a light-induced breakdown product of CBC.
