Built for every grower.

We want GenetixBay to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers, captions or reduced motion. Here's where we stand.

The short version

  • Our goal is WCAG 2.2 level AA on every public page and in the app.
  • We test every page automatically at seven screen widths, in light and dark, for overflow, clipped text and colour contrast.
  • Hit a barrier? Email hello@genetixbay.com with “Accessibility” in the subject. We aim to reply within 5 business days.
  • We'll provide information in another format on request.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and the accessibility expectations of Canadian and US law. This is a goal, not a certification: we haven't had an independent audit yet. [OWNER: schedule an independent accessibility audit before launch.]

What we do

  • Pages use real headings, landmarks and labels, so screen readers can navigate them.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Light, dark and other themes, and colours checked against the AA contrast ratio.
  • Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% without breaking the layout, and pages work from small phones to wide screens.
  • Images have text alternatives; decorative art is hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms say what's wrong in words, not just colour.

What we know isn't right yet

  • The French pages are machine-made drafts until a translator reviews them, so some wording may be unclear.
  • Some diagrams and animated illustrations carry detail that the surrounding text doesn't fully describe yet.
  • Greenleaf's narration will need transcripts and captions when it launches.
  • Our fonts load from our own server; if they don't load, the page falls back to system fonts, which is fine for reading but changes the look.
