Jardin is the grow system GenetixBay is developing: a hub with climate sensors, camera and plug-in modules that logs a grow, controls the environment and, in its dosing form, mixes nutrients element by element instead of from a fixed bottled ratio. It is in development, not a shipping product.

## In practice

The headline idea is per-element [custom dosing](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/per-element-dosing.md). A bottled [two-part nutrient](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/a-b-nutrient.md) fixes the ratio between nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and everything else, so cutting nitrogen in late flower means cutting the rest too. Dosing from separate element stocks lets a grower follow the GenetixBay approach: [taper nitrogen](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/nitrogen-taper.md) toward zero near the finish while keeping P, K, Ca, Mg, S and the [micronutrients](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/micronutrient.md) fed, instead of [flushing](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/flushing.md). Jardin keeps a running estimate of each element in the reservoir from what it dosed, what the plants drank and what drained, and a lab test resets that estimate.

On the climate side it handles light dimming with sunrise and sunset ramps and VPD-driven fan control, and everything is logged to the grower's journal with who or what made each change.

## Don't confuse with

- **Professor Greenleaf**: the knowledge assistant, which can read Jardin's data but is a separate thing.
- **A nutrient brand**: Jardin doses from whatever element stocks the grower uses.
