High-pressure aeroponics delivers nutrient solution to suspended roots as a fine mist, produced by forcing solution through small nozzles at high pressure. A typical system has a high-pressure pump filling a pressurised accumulator tank, a solenoid valve and a cycle timer that fires bursts of a few seconds every few minutes. Commonly quoted targets are droplets of about 20-50 µm at roughly 5.5-8 bar (80-120 psi).

## In practice

HPA gives roots unmatched oxygen access and very fast growth when everything works. But the margin is tiny: with no reservoir of water around the roots, a stuck solenoid, clogged nozzle or power cut can dry and kill roots within minutes. Successful growers use fine filtration, redundant nozzles, alarms and battery backup, and keep root chambers dark and cool.

It is an advanced system; GenetixBay suggests mastering [DWC](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/dwc.md) or [coco](https://genetixbay.com/knowledge/glossary/coco-coir.md) first.

## Don't confuse with

- **LPA**: low-pressure spray with large droplets and often a pool of solution.
- **Fogponics**: ultrasonic fog, not pressure-driven.
